Dear Mr. Obama,

Excuse me right off the bat for not respecting the title of “Mr. President,” but at this current time I truly feel you no longer deserve that high honor, as YOU have disrespected me, and thousands of others who “waved tea bags around” in protest of your overspending.

You obviously don’t care what the American people are trying to convey to you. You claim you’ll have a “conversation” with us, but we’ve tried already, and you didn’t listen. We have contacted our Senators and Congress, and we have been ignored.

It’s disgraceful that you stood before a large crowd and publicly humiliated the people you claim to serve. You aren’t serving US, Mr. Obama, you are serving your own agenda and your own left-wing, liberal party. You have no respect for the average American, and obviously no regard for what our needs are.

When millions of people bashed President Bush, he never once stooped so low as to publicly call them out, nor did he criticize any news station that “disliked” him, because he didn’t care. He was serving the people, not the press. He didn’t make a public spectacle out of himself so he’d look cute or funny, and he didn’t take pot shots at those who disagreed with him and make them look like fools. He had honor. He had common decency and respect. He was a class act who refused to take the bait.

President Bush once said that he knew that the decisions he made regarding the war weren’t always going to be popular with everyone, and he knew he was risking his reputation by making those tough decisions, but he said he’d “rather risk his reputation than risk the safety of this country.” Now THAT is honorable. You could take a lesson from this story, Mr. Obama, because it seems as if you don’t know how to govern the people, so instead you lash out at them, and that is utterly shameful. You owe the American people an apology, and their voices deserve to be heard!

Instead of trying to be a cute celebrity who’s trying to win a popularity contest, it would be better if you just stopped and listened. But you think you’re better than the average American, and you take them for fools. Stand up and take responsibility for the mistakes you’ve made, as you and your party insisted President Bush should have done so many times before. Fix the problems instead of blaming someone else, and stop making those problems worse!

By you implying that the tea party participants were “pretending” that their protest was against the TARP package just goes to show that you weren’t listening and you don’t care what was really being said. Instead, you publicly humiliated them to get a laugh out of the crowd, and in the process caused further division.

Americans are tired of bailing out big corporations. They are fearful of the wasteful spending that has been taking place over the past 101 days in your administration. They worry about their future, and the future of their children and their children’s children. They don’t WANT socialized healthcare, and they don’t want nationalized businesses where you run the show and make the decisions for those companies. They don’t want the wool pulled over their eyes with sneaky politics and hush-hush bills being rushed through without real debates and conversations about what those bills entail. They are “we the people,” and you and this government work for them, not the other way around. They want their voices to be heard. They love this country and the principals it was founded upon. They love the idea of this country and know the value of freedom. But these very people are finding that freedom is only one-sided now. That anyone who disagrees with the liberal agenda will be ridiculed, and eventually silenced. It is OUR rights that are being taken away. It’s our voices that are being stifled. It is our morals and values that are being degraded and belittled. And we have now become a corrupt nation, full of lies, betrayal, and hate, with an utter lack of respect for one another and their beliefs, ideals, and opinions. And by ridiculing the tea party participants, Mr. Obama, you only added more fuel to that already blazing fire.

This country is turning upside down and the American people are desperately trying to prevent that from happening full tilt. They are restless and angry. They are desperate and fearful. They are weary and tired. And all you do is rub salt to those very wounds. You’re not helping the country, Mr. Obama, you are destroying it, and you are destroying the American people. You are hurting us instead of helping us.

You may have won, but that doesn’t make you right. Stop degrading average Americans and start listening, start governing, and start working for “we the people.” Stop trying to be cute and funny. You weren’t hired to be a celebrity. You were hired to be the President of the United States of America. Start acting like it.

Today is tax day. April 15, 2009. I paid my taxes at the beginning of the year, and today I’m sitting up in bed, not feeling well, gathering my thoughts about what’s happening around our country today.

I’m feeling guilty for not attending the Anti-Tax Tea Party up in Madison today. I’ve been a huge opponent of the stimulus package, and have voiced my opinion, politically, about many things I disagree with, especially concerning this current administration.

I truly wanted to be involved in this process today. I wanted to be able to tell my son, when he gets older, that his parents were involved in a huge part of history to stand up and be heard on issues that ultimately will affect him and his future. I was the one who eagerly encouraged many people to become active in this protest. But I’m not there today.

My mom is suffering from recurring breast cancer, which is incurable. Monday we spent most of the day at the hospital with her, as she is in constant pain from her chemo treatments. And yesterday we spent the day in Chicago, as Jared, once again, had to make another emergency visit to the doctor about his knee, which isn’t getting any better. And we decided earlier in the day yesterday that we would make the 2 hour trip up to Madison to be involved, to be heard, and to be the kind of people who stand up for their beliefs.

There are many reasons we didn’t go. We were exhausted over the past few days, we had already missed out on work and didn’t want to take yet another day off without pay, and Jared’s knee doesn’t fair well as he sits still for long periods of time. And let’s not forget I’m 8 months pregnant and in constant need of a nearby bathroom. Fortunately we decided late last night that we wouldn’t go. I had a rough night and didn’t sleep well, and woke up feeling horrible.

But here’s what truly concerned me: People who don’t care, or believe Obama is doing the right thing, or continue to blame Bush for everything that continues to go wrong in the world, are making those of us who are FINALLY standing up and trying to be heard, out to be racists, neoconservatives, or simply ignorant.

I’ve been watching Fox News today, trying to see what’s going on out there and what I’m missing. And last night I told Jared the exact thing one reporter said: There’s not much confidence in this administration or this Congress, for the people to be taken seriously. Although every state has various Tea Parties going on today, still, no one is listening. Obama instead came out with yet another teleprompter speech about the economy and how he “won’t” raise taxes. As I listened, I noticed numerous contradictions to what he said a mere few weeks ago about taxing the rich and the small businesses. But he had to say all this so those of us who understand the reality of what will take place with his trillion dollar spending package would look moronic.

I said last night, “What does it really matter? No one listens to the average, everyday, conservative person.” We are the minority. We typically don’t scream and shout at people and tell them how stupid they are. Instead, we try to do things by the book and we believe in our rights, although constantly violated, and hope that Americans and politicians will do the right thing for the country as a whole, and not just the loons on the left who truly don’t have a clue about right and wrong anymore. But we have been looked upon as scum, as worthless, as vile human beings who are just prejudice and hate mongers. No one truly cares about how we feel, or what we believe anymore. Our voice doesn’t matter, and they are trying to do everything in their power to muzzle our voices.

I’m sick to death of the Bush-bashing that is endlessly taking place. The blame game Obama and his lackeys are playing is getting old, and it’s nothing more than a way to pass the buck so no one will pay attention to their role in the whole economic mess we’re currently suffering. Let’s not forget that Bush bailed out the banks in October, and both candidates agreed to this idea. After that, Obama won the election, and since then has bailed out the banks again, and may yet do so one more time. So why keep bashing Bush for the same things Obama is currently doing, only a hundred times worse? Why keep focusing on the past mistakes, and instead find better solutions? It didn’t work. We get that. But to put Bush down and continue supporting Obama is a contradiction I can’t bear to endure anymore. It’s hypocritical and an absolute cop-out. Obama is making the matter worse, not better, and to believe otherwise is truly ignorant.

The blind faith the American people have put in Obama is unnerving. It will have detrimental effects on our country and the future of our children. No matter what he says NOW, we will pay the price when he realizes that his tiny plan of the rich paying the cost of his inexperienced and egomaniacal spending package didn’t work.

Take a look at the states that took the money. They are currently raising taxes. Why? Because they NEED A WAY TO PAY FOR IT.

I admire the governors who stood firm and said NO to this money, because they understood what it would ultimately do to the taxpayers. They were thinking of the people, rather than their own greed. And now, this arrogant President thinks he can overlook the constitution and FORCE these governors to take dirty money they don’t care to take and inflict more cost onto the people.

I’m not stupid. I understand that the media and the fascist left will always make me look like I don’t know the truth. That doesn’t mean that I shut up and give up. It just means I get smart about it. Protests never got anyone anywhere. I’ve written my Senators on many occasions. They don’t care. They aren’t listening. I don’t matter anymore.

I don’t have confidence that people like me, who still believe in morals and values, will have much of a voice in the world anymore. I think the left has gone too far, and too many self-righteous people refuse to admit they are wrong. We are ALLOWING injustices to take place, and overlooking the obvious. We’re too concerned about hurting other people’s feelings, rather than taking care of ourselves.

I hope that those who stood up and spoke out today will be heard. But I don’t think that “we the people” really matter to “those the greedy.” And this ridiculousness will be something we not only have to endure for the next four years, but for the rest of our lifetime. When the damage is done, there’s no turning back. And the package has been signed, sealed and delivered. What we say now has no impact on what this administration says or does here out.

This Tea Party should have been done long ago. It should have been done when Obama and Pelosi started spewing their ignorant, self-bloated spending package to the people. But they forced it through. They did it without even knowing themselves what was in it. They crammed it down our throat and made a hasty effort to make sure the American people didn’t know what was in it, either. They gave us no choice in the matter. And they didn’t allow us to speak in a timely manner…and that’s why they pushed it through so quickly.

Everyone keeps talking about how this administration is “transparent,” I couldn’t disagree more. This has been the sneakiest President, administration, and Congress I’ve known in my lifetime…possibly in history.

I’d like to believe that being active makes a difference, but I’m not sure anyone cares to hear what conservatives have to say anymore. It’s no wonder we’ve all just went silent. And what’s the answer to that? How do we fight to be heard? How do we win the battle that is being fought against us at every turn? How do we protect the family, and faith, and our freedoms? How do we teach our children to resist the greedy ways of the world when it’s shoved in our face everyday? How do we even recognize right from wrong when so many lines are crossed? What do we do when there seems to be nothing left to do? A protest? A reenactment of a tea party that didn’t work back then, and won’t work today?

Both sides are to blame. Both parties. But no one is more to blame than the American people who continue to let these injustices take place. Some are saying today, “We’re not going to take it anymore,” but really…what does that mean if no one listens?

I’m confused. Did we elect a President to govern and run our country, or did we elect a celebrity to make the talk circuit rounds to “pump up” agendas?

This is ridiculous. He is ridiculous. But what I find more ridiculous is the notion that people think this is okay. That they find him “average” or “normal” because he goes on TV shows and makes tacky jokes that the lower class ding-dongs find endearing. They cheer him on, they laugh at his humorless jokes, and they sigh in relief that we finally have a President who can be young and relatable. He’s relatable because he stoops to the lowest common denominator. He’s not smart! He’s not brilliant! He’s not even normal or relatable! He’s not like you and me, and no matter how many jokes he makes, or how many late night shows he appears on, he’s will never be like you and me.

This man is supposed to be governing. Running the country. Making tough decisions. But in the last couple of months he’s done nothing of significance except push a bunch of papers around, signing bills that will ultimately destroy the foundation of our country. He’s the guy you work with that pretends to be busy so he won’t lose his job. He’s busy doing nothing while he steals wages from the company. He’s the guy you ponder and just have to ask, “What does he really do here?”

While Obama runs around the country—on taxpayers money, mind you—to seem cute and enduring, he’s fooling us, he’s tricking us into keeping our eyes off the real problems. He makes stupid jokes to take the focus off of his incompetence and hopes you’ll still find him likeable and charming. And the majority of people, who apparently don’t have a brain in their head, fall for it every time. They are awestruck.

It used to be that meeting the President was so overwhelming that you would lose all concentration. But people think Obama is “one of us,” a “good neighbor”, but he’s literally that guy we like so much that we can’t believe he’s the madman that’s been devouring the neighborhood kids who have been disappearing. “He was always so nice…I just can’t believe he did it.” But that’s what charming people do: deceive. Lie. Cheat. Steal. Threaten. All the while they look like us. They win us over. They trick us. They make us like them so we would never suspect what they were really up to.

The President needs to be Presidential, and that doesn’t mean he talks to us through Jay Leno. He has an Oval Office–a place that signifies his leadership and authority to the world–where he should make his pleas to the people. Instead, this President, runs to the liberal side of Hollywood to get your attention, because Americans don’t hold that office with much respect anymore…and that’s a disgrace in itself.

I’m ashamed of Americans. That you are defending a man who is a million times dumber than most of you proclaimed President Bush to be. But when Obama does it, that’s okay. This President makes clumsy errors and the world embraces him instead of ridiculing him the way they did Bush. In the past 50 days, he’s done utterly ridiculous things that would have had Americans SCREAMING for Bush’s head had he done them.

But hardly anyone is crying outrage here. We laugh this guy off. We want to “give him a chance.” You know why? Because you can’t admit that he’s not the right guy for the office. He doesn’t fit the profile. He doesn’t have the qualifications. He doesn’t have the smarts for it. He’s dumb as a brick when it comes to governing a country. He’s Clueless, co-starring with Alicia Silverstone. But we’ll let it slide. We’ll keep laughing at his ridiculous jokes instead of demanding him to run the country. We’ll just continue to let Congress run the country into the ground while our President confuses us through late night shtick. “Pay no attention to that woman behind that curtain…Look at me!” He’s like the shiny object that distracts the null-minded! He’s blinding us with glitz and glitter. He’s the Paris Hilton of Presidents.

I’m confused America. I’m confused because I don’t understand what most of you are thinking anymore, or if you’re thinking at all. We’ve let our morals and good judgments slide down the slippery slope, all for “hope” that only translated into trickery. And instead of standing against this stupidity and madness, 65% of you just laugh. You feel reassured by him. You feel confident in him, even when your lives are falling apart. You refuse to see him for what he is and what he truly isn’t. You just want to keep believing in a false god that will ultimately destroy your livelihood. Most of you don’t even know what he’s saying; you’re just so darn impressed with the fact that he’s a normal guy, just like you, sitting in the seat next to Jay Leno. How many times have you been on the Jay Leno show? Yeah, that’s how “normal” he is, folks.

You’ve made Obama into a pop culture icon rather than a leader of the free world! He’s turned the Oval Office into a circus ring, filled with clowns and jackasses, and he’s the Ring Leader, distracting us from the dictatorship and abuses that are going on behind the scenes.

He’s not a President. He’s a Talking Head. He throws glitter in your eyes, blinding you with the glamour of the Presidency, rather than the harsh reality of the role. But that’s because he doesn’t know it. He hasn’t dealt with it yet. That’s why he’s the one making the TV rounds. He doesn’t know what he’s doing. And he’s more than proven that point 50% of his short time in office. He’s bumbling around, running into things, signing this and that without weighing the consequences. He’s forcing us to leap before we’ll realize that we’re leaping into a pot of boiling water. Confusion is center stage at the Obama Circus, and that’s why no one has a clue as to what’s going on. We’re pressured to believe he knows best, when he knows nothing at all. And then they backtrack and pass the buck back to Bush. How convenient for them…

America, it’s disgraceful that you are allowing these things to happen. It’s shameful that you are so awestruck by the colorful lights and the empty words, that you truly don’t even know what’s going on anymore.

But if you are a select few who still believe that the government should be working for YOU, and not the other way around, check out this website. You won’t be disappointed.

Ok. So I have a friend. She’s an old friend. A friend I’ve had since the third grade–and that’s saying a lot. We have our time spans where we lose touch, but we always find our way back to each other.

I haven’t talked to my old friend since the election. No particular reason. We just hadn’t had the time.

So yesterday we got into a long session of catching up through email, and I told her about my involvement with the Kenosha County Republican Women’s Group. She wrote back saying, “I know you’re a Republican, but I’m all about Obama.” She then proceeded to tell me that her mother-in-law was also “all about” Obama, too, so much so, that she named her two new kitties after him and Michelle. (ARG!!! I want to claw my eyes out with people like this!)

I replied, “Obama, eh? Hmmmm. My problem with Obama is everyone’s obsession with the guy.”

Her response: “I don’t know anything about politics. I just liked that he was young, and had a family. He seemed real to me.”

She voted for Obama because he was “young” and “married” with “children.”

I want EVERYONE–ANYONE–who doesn’t understand politics, or doesn’t CARE about politics, or who literally votes for someone based on looks, race, charisma, or their significant other, to: STEP. AWAY. FROM. THE. VOTING. BOOTH. And don’t come back until you DO understand what these people stand for!

Now I know my old friend very well. I know her views. And I know for a FACT if she had only known WHAT this guy stands for, and what his viewpoints are on the world, she would have never voted for him. But what could anyone learn from him if we didn’t look outside of the mainstream media? If you only knew him from what ABC, NBC, CNN, CBS, or MSNBC was telling you, then I can see why everyone has been so “taken” with the guy. That’s the way they “presented” him: a “real” guy. A family guy. A good guy. A strong man. The voice of the people.

The guy didn’t say ONE WORD that made any sense to those who really LISTENED! But most people were awestruck by his sense of style and his charm; the way he wooed the media, and contradicted himself with a smile on his face and said, “I never said that.”

54% of voters didn’t care that he associated himself with domestic terrorists, nor did they care that he had no real experience in governing, while they POUNDED Sara Palin–a “Governor” of one of the largest states–claiming that she lacked experience! Obama’s “community coordinating” was like me telling the world I had what it took to run the country because I was a meeting planner and event coordinator for six years in corporate America. But half of the country thought anyone who asked Obama the hard questions were racist hate mongers who only wanted to demoralize a moral guy.

“He seemed real to me…” About as real as a robot may come, I’d say. He was a product–a tool, a weapon–of the liberal machine. NOTHING about this guy is real, or genuine. Proof in point: he voted “present”, rather than yes or no, on Live Birth Abortion! Gutless, I’d say. About as worthless and gutless as they come. And for the guy who says he’s not “political”, he played politics with a very crucial issue, such as live birth abortion. He didn’t want to say one way or another, because he didn’t want it to come back and haunt him during the campaign. And when a reporter brought the facts forth on the issue, Obama threatened any media outlet who would allow this guy to speak out against Obama and tell the truth.

Obama hid behind cowardice. He hid behind his lack of judgment and ethics. He hid in politics. I would have respected him more if he had just said, yes…or no. At least I’d know where the guy stood on the issues. But even now I don’t have a clue. He’s done nothing to govern. He’s done nothing to show that he knows how to govern. He’s been letting everyone else dictate to him how it will be, and they push him out the door to campaign for it. Because that’s all he knows.

They called Bush a liar. But this guy has gone back on his word more times in the past month than Bush could have ever dreamed of doing in the eight years he was in office!

All I know–all I want–all I wish–is that people who don’t know or don’t care about the real issues absoloutely needs to stop voting. Let those of us–even those I don’t agree with–have a real say so. Because those of you who are voting based on idiotic, superficial, so-called “values” are wrecking this country! You are destroying us. You are making a mockery out of the system. And you are making fools out of yourselves…

Educate yourself on the issues, because whether or not you’re “political,” these issues will ultimately affect your life one way or another. (http://www.heritage.org/)

Find out what your elected officials are voting on. (You can! You have a RIGHT to know. Just go to this site and sign up: http://www.congress.org/congressorg/megavote/ and you will be informed of every yes or no vote by your congress person.) Find out what’s going to be voted on (http://www.senate.gov/pagelayout/legislative/g_three_sections_with_teasers/legislative_home.htm).

Stop listening ONLY to the mainstream media. Find other outlets like Fox News (a news station that truly IS fair and balanced, and will allow you to get both sides of the issues: http://www.foxnews.com/) and The Drudge Report (http://www.drudgereport.com/). Mainstream media outlets are run by extreme liberal corporations and donors. They will NEVER, EVER, give you a look at the real Democrats, and they will always slant their views to make Republicans look like the bad guys. They will never outright criticize a Democrat the way the do Republicans. You will never get the truth from a one-sided freak show.

Here’s the point I’m trying to make: you don’t balance your checkbook if you can’t do math, right? You need to know something about adding and subtracting in order to keep your budget in order. To be a computer programmer, you don’t go to a job interview and say, “I don’t know anything about computers, but I can do this job!” You need to know a LOT about computers and how they operate.

Politics is no different. You can’t vote if you don’t understand what you’re voting for or against. You can’t make an educated choice if you don’t care to learn what one person or another believes in or not. You can’t blindly pull a lever that will ultimately change the world and affect everyone around you! You should never make a choice for the country, if you don’t care how it will affect the country.

Step away from the voting booth. Come back when you know what you stand for and you are certain you are voting for a representative who will uphold those values and issues.

Welcome to my blog, The Muzzled Voice. My name is Tristine Deming and I’ve been published in various magazines and ezines over the past ten years. I also had my first novel published in 2005. Since then I have been focusing my blogs/writings mainly on my views and opinions on politics and life–my life and how it pertains to the average American.

For several years I have enjoyed playing around with my website, www.tristinedenise.com, but it mostly consisted of information about my book, She Is…It was only when I began writing blogs about politics when I realized that I needed a “place” specifically for that type of venting. It took me a while to get here, but at least I made it.

Just a small disclaimer before you begin reading my blogs: I am a Republican. This does not mean I’m a racist, or a gun-toting, religious fanatic. For years I considered myself to be a moderate-Republican, because although I am very spiritual, most of my beliefs are based solely on common sense issues that focuses on ethics and morals. My faith plays only a small part in what I believe and why. There may be times I insert God into my opinions, but only because it somehow fits.

I believe in right and wrong, and I feel that as a country, we no longer understand what’s truly wrong and have no idea how to be right, or good. As a whole, this country has been trampled on and conquered by political correctness, and because of that we are truly suffering the consequences of deteriorating values. Families are suffering, businesses are suffering, babies are dying, and victims have become criminals.

We are living under a corrupt and inept mainstream media that is unfortunately molding American life as we know it. We are allowing outside voices and celebrities to manipulate our thought process, and in doing so, we have turned to mush. We have also turned into hate-filled, heartless, mindless zombies that find numerous ways to insult one another while following the pack of glitz and glitter in an unreal world. This was a learned process that the media and Hollywood worked hard to accomplish over the past eight years…and they have succeeded.

My blogs, my opinions, my views, my rants and raves, are typically triggered by today’s warped behaviors of Democrats, Hollywood, and the media, and how it truly affects us in everyday life.

Ever since I have “come clean” about being a Republican, I have been called every name in the book. I have lost friends who couldn’t handle the truth, and refused to listen to fact, rather than unreason. And I have been refused jobs because the employer insisted that they “hated Republicans.”

Although I enjoy expressing my opinion, I try very hard to have resources to back up that opinion. I know I can’t stop people from hating me because of what I believe (although I hate NO ONE for their own beliefs), but my goal is not to merely criticize the opposition, but to inform the public, to wake them up, to get them to stand up, and to get them to start “feeling” something again. Reason is not motivating our country anymore. Facts are no longer wanted or needed. This country is moved by mere emotions, mostly of which are negative and spawned by lies and misconception.

One major thing that has stunned me over the past few years is the utter lack of understanding of what Republicans stand for. The other problem we face is Hollywood’s portrayal of Republicans, which in turn has led many Americans to believe we are evil, racist, war mongers. Every party has their demons and their flaws, but to solely pick on one party over and over again gets a bit disturbing…but Hollywood is setting the stage for nearly everything we stand for as Americans today. And that is the real shame we face as a nation.

I often find that the world believes everyone believes the same things they do, and when you don’t, they shun you. During the 2008 election, everyone just “assumed” that everyone else was an Obama cult-follower, and when you came out against him, you were ridiculed and rejected. As if theirs is only one voice in this country. And that is why my blog is called, The Muzzled Voice. Republicans are losing their voice and losing their ground. We are fighting a losing battle with America on morals and values, and life in general.

This is a critical time in our history to have our voices be heard and not muzzled. We are living in disturbing times when our own President pushes the media around, insisting on what they will or will not talk about. We are living in a lopsided world, where only one view is currently welcome. But I’m not going to bow down to that, and I hope many will follow my lead.

I enjoy feedback and comments. I even like to hear what the “other side” has to say, but only if it’s accurate and not based on hate for what I stand for. I’m not merely “black and white.” I believe there are gray areas, and I’m willing to admit when I don’t know much about one topic or another, and I’m always eager to hear why the other side believes what they believe.

I hope that any comments left here will spawn lively debates, rather than heated and hateful discussions. I ask that we respect our differences and try to learn from one another, and I beg of you that you refrain from calling anyone cruel names!

I also hope that you will come back often and become a valued member of The Muzzled Voice.
